The first of its kind museum in Protaras with antiquities and artifacts gathered from all over the island and renovated to their original glory.
Traditional Folkore Museum
The folklore museum takes the form of a Traditional Cypriot house with household objects and ornaments, agricultural tools, sawing machine and many more.
Drepani
(Δρεπάνι)
A sharp cutting tool used in agriculture for harvesting grass or cereal which has a wooden or metal handle and a curved metal blade.
Argaleios (ΑργαλειÏŒς)
A traditional sawing device used to weave linen, wool, silk, cotton etc. This was a very common device used by mainly women in various ages throughout the history of Cyprus.
Tatsia
(Τατσιά)
Α pan consisted of a wooden round, on which a silk cloth was applied, through which the flour passed, to be cleaned of bran.
Copperware
Within the museum there are various handicrafts made from copper. Cyprus is traditionally the island of Copper with even its name deriving from it from the Latin word Cuprum.
